about me

Carley Selles is a local artist, whose unique talent runs deep within her veins. Carley started playing piano at the age of 5 under the instruction of Miss Yvonne Wadden at the Lier House in the city of Penticton, British Columbia. Wadden immersed Carley in a broad experience that gave her a strong basis of music knowledge. By the age of 10 Wadden wisely realized that Carley needed to expand her knowledge of music to include classical training.

Fane Stevenson of Steve’s Groove School introduced Carley to the Royal Conservatory of Music program. She enjoyed the new direction, experiencing adjudications, auditions, concerts, gigs, and festivals. She most recently completed an examination licensing her to teach up to Grade 8 RCM.

With trepidation Carley found her way to Selkirk College where she studied Contemporary Music and Technology, but committed herself completely to discover where this road would lead her. Today, her piano styles are many, ranging from Classical and Contemporary, to Jazz, Blues, and Improvisational.

“As human beings, music has always been a part of who we are. It’s part of what makes us different from all other living things on earth. To us, it is the perceptible emotions of sound. It affects us so deeply, it has the power to inspire our minds.”

- Carley Selles
